Our “Cannabis is Exploding in CPG: Is Your Organization Ready?” webinar, which took place on August 27, 2019, was hosted by Jessica Lukas, Vice President, Consumer Insights, BDS Analytics and Larry Levin, Executive Vice President, Market and Shopper Intelligence, IRI.
Eleven U.S. states and the District of Columbia have now fully legalized cannabis, and most others have some form of legalization. Many CPG and retail companies recognize that consumer interest in cannabis and hemp products is growing, but they may not know what action to take, if any. Industries such as food and beverage, confectionery, alcohol, over-the-counter health care and beauty/skincare are being directly impacted by the proliferation of legal cannabis, but even those who may not plan to launch cannabis-related products, or think it will impact their business, will want to be updated on the opportunities and potential risks involved.
How do consumers currently feel about cannabis? What are the biggest changes expected? This webinar shared the perceptions and the realities of cannabis adoption and use in the U.S., along with how cannabis is expected to impact the CPG industry going forward.
- Key insights into the legal cannabinoid marketplace, from its history to its current status, to future opportunities
- A deeper understanding of cannabis consumers: who they are, how they behave and how they are evolving
- The complex nature of how the cannabis market breaks down by cannabinoid (THC, CBD, etc.), category and channel
- The tools marketers can utilize to better understand the cannabis market and consumers, and make strategic, data-based decisions for their business
This webinar is geared to all CPG manufacturers and retailers, including those who are responsible for insights, analytics, innovation, customer intelligence, category management, assortment, marketing, sales, brand and strategy at their companies.
