Job Summary: BDSA is seeking a self-driven BI Developer to join our technology team.  The ideal candidate will be hands-on, have a strong understanding of BI development technology and tools, and be capable of functioning as an individual contributor on a Dev team.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Interface and work with business stakeholders to understand the business and functional requirements to develop and architect an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) platform
  • Develop application specific logical and physical data models
  • Play a leadership role in the design, implementation and development of ETL processes
  • Define the strategy and design for creation of a Data Warehouse Data Quality strategy
  • Manage all aspects of the data architecture, including models, data staging and ETL framework
  • Collaborate with other cross-functional IT software/data personnel on development of EDW components
  • Establishes standards for data warehouse reporting technology, as well as design, development, implementation and maintenance processes
  • Maintain and document operational environment
  • Present information through reports and visualization
  • Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
  • Prototyping new ideas to help the business make decisions on technology path

Job-related Education, Experience, and/or Other Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer programming or related field preferred, or comparable job-related experience and training
    • Snowflake
    • Azure SQL
    • Python
    • TSQL
    • SSIS/Azure Data Factory
    • Reporting & Visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, SSRS, Power BI)
    • C# Experience a nice to have
  • SnowPro certifications are preferred
  • 3-5 years of Data Architecture experience
  • Design and develop database objects, tables, stored procedures, views, triggers in Azure SQL Server and Snowflake databases
  • Design, build, test, and execute ETL packages, including automation of ETL jobs utilizing Python, SSIS, or Azure Data Factory
  • Identify new solutions for creating an optimal analytical layer across all organizational data, working to improve quality and frequency of data
  • Comprehensive understanding of relational database design principles
  • Experience documenting complex data architectures, ETL processes, and data systems
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
  • Experience creating process and procedure around data cleansing and data normalization
  • Experience designing databases, including physical storage and data architecture concepts
  • Solid experience and ability to document and explain data modeling to technical and non-technical resources
  • Background or familiarity with Data Governance, Metadata Management, Taxonomy Management, Master Data Management and Data Security
  • Columnar Storage database implementation and maintenance
  • Database administration experience in both SQL Azure and Snowflake
  • Azure knowledge specifically around App Services and Functions
