Micah Tapman is a long-time venture capitalist with a background in cybersecurity, financial services, and the cannabis industry. He led the first investment in BDS Analytics in 2015 and has served the company in a variety of roles including investor, advisor, director, and now chairman.
Micah is a co-founder of CanopyBoulder and 7thirty, two venture capital investment groups focused on the cannabis industry, and he is a veteran of both the U.S. Marine Corps and the Fortune 500 world with an MBA and B.S. in computers. As a serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist, he combines a deep understanding of technology with a focus on business strategy. His time in the Corps provided an outstanding leadership foundation, which melded with business training at SAIC and in graduate school to create a dynamic leader with the ability to motivate and empower those around him.
Roy Bingham Co-Founder & CEO
Roy Bingham is a Harvard MBA and former McKinsey consultant, a serial entrepreneur and founder of BDS Analytics. He grew up in the UK, was a banker/financier in London, then moved to the USA in 1993.
Bingham started BDS Analytics after recognizing that the emerging cannabis industry lacked the kind of sophisticated, sales-based data that is both commonplace and essential in other, more established industries. In those industries, market research – and consumer behavior – drive everything from new product development to inventory and branding decisions.
Among his prior businesses, Bingham had been both an early investor in SPINS – a very successful data analytics company for the Natural Products Industry and later an expert user of their data as a senior marketing executive in natural products.
Liz Stahura Co-Founder & President
Liz has been in the business intelligence market for over 10 years, working for some of the leading names in retail sales tracking. She is a widely recognized authority in retail sales analysis and strategic consulting, and brings with her insights learned from years in the cycling, running, outdoor and sports apparel business. During her time at Leisure Trends and NPD Group, Liz assisted the business through product launches in three new industries. Her most recent role was to lead the bike and running division of the company. Often asked to speak in front of clients and at industry events, her various works can be seen, heard and read through the numerous industry presentations, webinars, articles, white papers and trend pieces she has delivered over the years. Liz looks forward to bringing her voice and expertise to similar platforms in the cannabis industry.
